Diocesan Annual General Assembly (AGA) 2018 was unique as it was the best attended ever in the history of the diocese. It was attended by twenty eight delegates from seventeen (17) Parishes most of whom spent the night at the Watakatifu Wote Senta(WWS). This was following the previous year’s revelation and resolution that one day was not enough to accomplish the matters at hand. In terms of Deaneries, Ngong was represented by sixteen (16) delegates, narok four (4) delegates, Loitokitk Deanery by seven (7) delegates and Kilgoris Deanery by one (1) delegate. Kajiado Deanery the newest in the Diocese was not represented.
The turnout was still low, however, as it was expected a total of three delegates from 34 parishes making a total of one hundred and two (102) delegates expected. This therefore a 27.4% turnout was recorded.
The event was held starting on 3rd August 2018, at 4pm and 4th August 2018 up to 3.30pm. The first day covered Deanery reports after taking supper. The next day’s program started with a mass in the morning celebrated by Fr Boniface Mukwe the Diocesan CMA Chaplain. Parish reports then followed by reports by the Chairman and Treasurer. Resolutions were made after lunch.
The AGA is the supreme CMAK organ for reviewing the rules regulations and issues in the Diocese, is composed of at least three delegate from each Parish.
